Doo Wah Riders
Friday, February 28, 2025 – 7:30 PM
The Doo-Wah Riders have been based in Southern California for over 40 years. They possess the rare combination of many years of experience and youthful energy, fired by a love for what they do. The Doo-Wahs are country, with a unique, original sound. They define their sound as “high energy country with a cajun twist”. Showcasing ultra-tight musicianship and powerful arrangements of classic and original songs, The Doo-Wah Riders are great showmen and are enjoyed by audiences across the country as well as in Europe and beyond.
The band celebrated its 40th year in 2018. How did it all begin you ask? Well, one night after playing music at a friend’s house, Kenny Lee Benson and Lindy Rasmussen stood in the parking lot and talked about country music until the wee hours of the morning. They found that they had a mutual passion for Bob Wills, Asleep at the Wheel, Guy Clark and, of course, Emmylou Harris, and decided to put a band together just for “laughs.”
The Doo-Wah Riders are still going strong and enjoying the “laughs!” It just goes to show that some things are meant to last in this world. As other artists and groups fell by the wayside, The Doo-Wah Riders kept up the pace and continue to perform over 200 days a year.
